Basic approach to lowering a Racing Lawn Mower, this is just one of many methods. Uses the original lawn mower chassey, NOT a seperate dirt track go kart frame with a mower hood and fenders. Will be used on a “Road Course”. Front Tie Rod – I used 1/2″ female 20 right hand thread heim joints I got through www.speedwaymotors.com , they were .99 each, picked up some grade 5 jam nuts from the local implement store, used 1/2″ cold rolled shaft material I cut and threaded, then assembled everything with Blue Locktite. It wasn’t a kit, all from scratch. In the end, if you can figure out how to lower your sheet metal, thus your center of gravity you can get by without the jack shaft portion and moving the tranny, check out and observe the LMRacers in “The Machines” I recently uploaded.

Riding my go kart for the first time. I still have to hook up the brake and make a new steering arm as the old one is to thin and bent like butter. That will take about an hour to do, im going to make a handbrake instead of a foot brake as the foot brake didnt work out to well. My rear left tire was flat and i didnt notice until about halfway through the video i heard a funny sound and saw the back tire wobbling around on the rim. I stopped after that. I pumped all the tires up hard now so there good. Ill have a better video of it running fast 2morrow. Stay tuned.
