I’m going to build a go kart w/ a 6.5 hp 4 stroke engine, I want to use a centrifugal clutch becuase I’ve heard it’s easiest. Does the number of teeth on the sprokets have any thing to do w/? Don’t need a lot of speed but I wan’t to be able to climb hills. Would a torque converter be a good idea?

Building a Go-Kart. HELP!?
Author: cappetaMay 24
I was told that if i were to keep the engine (7.5HP Briggs&Stratton) idling while stopped I’d have to buy a Centrifugal clutch..I am unsure to what I should look for. I just need a simple one that’s Durable, And Inexpensive. Help me find an idea of what size and where i can buy one of these. Thanks for checking this out.

How do I get rust out of a small engine for a home made built go-kart?
Author: cappetaMay 17
I have recently acquired a small and, probably home made go-kart chaise. I am wanting to get it functional for future use. I have a motor and I know I need a clutch, a chain, and a throttle cable, possibly brakes. The motor I have found is an old 5hp garden tiller and after looking over the mechanics I have found that the inside of the gas tank is covered in rust (not a dusty kind of rust). It will run but I don’t want to harm the motor by running it for too long in this condition. I am looking for an easy, relatively fast, and cheap way to get rid of the rust. Any ideas? Plus if you have any other help, ideas, and/or assistance to get my go-kart running it will really help and would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
GoKart clutches with the most torque?
Author: cappetaApr 19
Hi,
I have built an off road go kart. It works great except my clutch slips when trying to go up a hill or when i am in loose dirt. Right now I have this clutch
http://www.mfgsupply.com/m/c/216473A.html?id=q3GTgPqY
I get no torque when I use this clutch. I have looked into industrial clutches but do not know what
sets them apart from the other clutches. Do they have more torque? Do they slip less?
What clutch would you recommend for my off road use? What clutch can supply the most torque?
I have a 5.5 hp Honda GX 160 with a 3/4 inch bore and a size 40/41 chain.
thanks for your help!
